It Is Suggested in Armenia to Rename one of the International Airports in Honor of the Great Chansonnier Charles Aznavour

Former Advisor to the Minister of Diaspora Vruyr Penesyan suggests to rename “Zvartnots” International Airport in honor of the great chansonnier Charles Aznavour.

“I am sure that this idea will be welcomed not only by the Armenian people, but also by the whole world”, Penesyan wrote on Facebook, Sputnik Armenia reports.

Besides, there are also people who offer to rename Gyumri’s “Shirak” airport after the world famous singer. They started collecting signatures on the change.org website.

”By renaming Gyumri airport after Charles Aznavour, we will eternalize his name and will give a new impetus to the development of the Shirak region, for the restoration of which Aznavour himself has made great efforts”, wrote the authors of the petition.

The petition of renaming “Zvartnots” International Airport in honor of Charles Aznavour is available here.
