YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3. ARMINFO. The Swiss authorities have filed 12 applications by illegal Armenian migrants under Repatriate Reintegration in Armenia program, says Hambartsoum Abrahamyan, the head of the migration programs division of the migration and refugee department of Armenia.
This is the first case of implementation of the Armenian-Swiss agreement on illegal migration issues. The repatriation is carried out through a dialogue with people denied refugee status. The Swiss authorities are being supported by Armenia’s police and FM who are identifying the people and are giving them exit documents. As soon as they are back in Armenia the department will involve them in education and health care projects. They may even be given loans for setting up small businesses to properly live in Armenia. The program does not give housing, says Abrahamyan.
