The Syriac Orthodox Bishop of Jerusalem Paid a Courtesy Visit to the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem

On Tuesday, 6 October 2026, His Grace Bishop Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Syriac Orthodox Bishop of Jerusalem, accompanied by members of his clergy, paid a courtesy visit to the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and met with His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current situation, ecclesiastical matters, as well as opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the Armenian and Syriac Orthodox sister Churches in the Holy Land. Particular attention was also given to matters concerning the Status Quo arrangement.

During the meeting, the Syriac Orthodox Bishop presented His Beatitude the Armenian Patriarch with a silver-plated “Our Father” plaque.

The meeting was also attended by the Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Aghan Gogchyan.
