The right to deferment from military service in the Armenian army has been established for the purpose of studying at universities in natural, technological, engineering, and mathematical directions of priority importance for the state. The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.
This right applies to male citizens of Armenia whose deferment provided within the framework of the “I Have Honor” program was terminated due to health conditions.
In addition, male nationals of Armenia with significant achievements in science and education will be granted a deferment for the period of study at institutions included in the top 50 of the academic rating of the best higher educational institutions in the world—but not longer than until the age of 27.
