YEREVAN. – Yerevan residents and representatives of the Jewish community gathered near the Holocaust monument on Saturday to honor memory of innocent victims with a minute of silence.
The event was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, members of the Armenian Jewish community, Armenian MP Gagik Minasyan and Lieutenant-General Hayk Kotanjyan.
“I would like to thank the Armenian people who hosted and sheltered the members of the Jewish community who live here and who were given the opportunity to live here,” U.S. Ambassadoor said.
Head of the Jewish community of Armenia Rimma Varzhapetyan also delivered a speech.
