Kazakhstan to ratify agreement on Armenia’s accession to Eurasian Economic Union after meeting in Moscow

Kazakhstan will ratify the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union after a meeting in Moscow on December 23, Novosti-Armenia reports referring to the information posted on the Russian government’s website (a shorthand report from Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Kazakh Presdient Nursultan Nazarbayev ).

The news agency is quoted Nazarbayev as saying that Armenia and Kazakhstan
will start interacting within the Eurasian Economic Union on January
1, 2015 and on January 23 «there will be a meeting in Moscow and we will
ratify Armenia’s accession – maybe Kyrgyzstan will be ready by that time».
The Kazakh president said that despite the trade turnover expressed in
money has dropped its physical volumes are growing and joint enterprises are developing.
“And when price trend improves indicators will significantly improved as well,” Nazarbayev said. “Common customs borders, freedom in movement of people and cargoes is a great advantage for our countries.”
Earlier, on December 10, Armenian Presdient Serzh Sargsyan talked to his Kazakh counterpart by phone. The two presidents discussed prospects for cooperation between their countries within the Eurasian Economic Union.
On December 4, the Armenian National Assembly ratified the agreement of Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. On December 10, Russia’s Duma ratified it as well.
After Kazakh and Belarusian lawmakers do the same Armenia will become a full member of the union.
