A chess tournament at Hye M’rtsoom. ACYOA Juniors to Gather for Hye M’rtsoom. ACYOA Juniors will gather over Memorial Day weekend at St. James Church of Watertown, MA, for the annual Hye M’rtsoom program. The parish is expecting a record-breaking 247 participants from 16 parishes across the Diocese.
All events will be held at the St. James Church’s Charles Mosesian Cultural and Youth Center, and participants will be housed with local families. Jennifer Morris, the Diocese’s director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, will be present throughout the weekend, and will deliver the “Insights” message at the conclusion of the morning service on Saturday.
The St. James parish has been hosting Hye M’rtsoom for 39 years. Parish pastor Rev. Fr. Arakel Aljalian, Yn. Natasha Aljalian, and St. James youth minister Maria Derderian have partnered with dedicated community members to ensure the success of the weekend’s events. The program brings together young people ages 13 to 18 for worship, sports, and other activities.
