In the Armenian Church calendar, December 14, 2013 is dedicated to St. James, the Bishop of Nisibis. On the following day, Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian will pay a pastoral visit to St. James Armenian Church in Los Angeles where he will be the day’s celebrant and homilist.
During the service His Eminence will confer St. Nerses Shnorhali medals upon devout parishioners Stephanie Goshtigian, Dn. Greg Akarakian and Dn. Danny Akarakian and will present the accompanying Encyclicals of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. Hye Spirit medals will also be presented to Aroussiak and Kevork Antabian, Anne Mills and Shahe Adourian.
On that day, the faithful will also celebrate the Name Day of the Parish with an official banquet following the service.
