Former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian will speak today at the Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, being held in Istanbul. This fifth annual conference has as its theme “Exploring the New Landscape,” and featured Turkish President Abdullah Gul as the opening speaker. Former US National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft also participated, as did Turkish Prime Minister Ali Babacan. Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is scheduled to speak.
From Armenia, in addition to Oskanian, Salpi Ghazarian, Director of the Civilitas Foundation, Richard Giragossian, Director of the Regional Studies Center, and David Shahnazaryan, Director of the Accord NGO are also present.
Vartan Oskanian, Member of Parliament, will speak in the session entitled “Energy, Economic, and Political Challenges and Strategies.” This session will be broadcast LIVE at 3.15 pm Istanbul time. CivilNet.am will carry the program.
Ստամբուլում այս օրերին ընթանում է ԱՄՆ-ի Ատլանտյան խորհրդի (Atlantic Council) էներգետիկ-տնտեսական 5-րդ տարեկան գագաթաժողովը։
Գագաթաժողովը բացվել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Աբդուլլահ Գյուլի խոսքով։ Ելույթով հանդես է եկել ԱՄՆ-ի նախկին նախագահներ Ջերալդ Ֆորդի և Ջորջ Բուշի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Բրենթ Սքոուքրոֆթը։
Գագաթաժողովին Հայաստանից մասնակցում են Ազգային ժողովի պատգամավոր Վարդան Օսկանյանը, «Համաձայնություն» կենտրոնի ղեկավար Դավիթ Շահնազարյանը, Սիվիլիթաս հիմնադրամի տնօրեն Սալբի Ղազարյանը և Տարածաշրջանային հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի ղեկավար Ռիչարդ Կիրակոսյանը։
Նոյեմբերի 22-ին գագաթաժողովի «Էներգետիկ, տնտեսական և քաղաքական մարտահրավերներ ու ռազմավարություններ» նիստում ելույթ կունենա ԱԺ պատգամավոր, Հայաստանի նախկին արտգործնախարար Վարդան Օսկանյանը։
