Western Diocese e-Newsletter
Dear Reader
The death of Christ symbolizes His defeat over death. As we approach the tomb of Christ on Good Friday, we cleanse ourselves from the burden of sin. Therefore, Good Friday is the day when we partake in Christ’s sufferings, and by kneeling at the Tomb of Christ, we receive the light emanating from the tomb.
On Good Friday, we sing fervently the hymn, “Holy God, Holy and Almighty and Immortal, who was crucified and buried for us, have mercy on us.” In singing this hymn, we relive the mystery of the crucifixion with a new commitment that the Savior remains to be the destiny of our life.
