Yerevan, September 30. ArmInfo. Square of France has been opened in Yerevan. Armenian and French Presidents Robert Kocharyan and Jacques Chirac with their wives Bella Kocharyan and Bernadette Chirac were present at the ceremony.
The square was opened on the occasion of the starting Days of France in Armenia and the Year of Armenia in France.
On behalf of the Yerevan residents Yerevan Mayor Yervand Zakharyan welcomed the presidents. He said that Yerevan and Paris have been actively cooperating for almost two decades already and the Square of France is symbol of Armenian-French frienship.
The Presidents opened the “Square of France” plaque, welcomed the people in the square and walked to the presidential residence.
