ARMENIA´S FOREIGN TRADE IN FIRST QUARTER MAKES $606 MILLION

YEREVAN, APRIL 20, ARMENPRESS: Armenia’s foreign trade in the first three months of this year amounted to $606.4 million, a 7 percent growth from a year ago, Armenian National Statistical Service (Armstat) reported. It said the growth rate in 2006 March against February was 21.4 percent.

The service said the trade, not counting the diamond sector figures, was $506.2 million, marking an 18.4 percent growth from a year ago. It said Armenian exports in the reported time rose to $184.4 million and imports to $422 million. Export volume growth rate was 5.6 percent and that of imports 13.6 percent.

YNot counting the diamond cutting sector, exports made $138.1 million and imports $368 million. Armstat also said population’s overall incomes in the first quarter made 312 billion drams and expenses rose to 326.4 billion drams.
