GAZPROM AND ARMENIA SIGN 25-YEAR AGREEMENT

MOSCOW, APRIL 6, ARMENPRESS: Russian Gazprom and the government of Armenia have signed a 25 year-long cooperation agreement that sets the basic principles of strategic Russian-Armenian cooperation in gas and energy areas.
Prime Tass news agency said under the agreement Armenia will pay $110 per one thousand cubic meters of gas until 2009, January 1. The agreement envisages that the Russian-Armenian Hayrysgazard company will buy the 40-km long section of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline and the incomplete fifth unit of the biggest Armenian Hrazdan thermal power plant.
