`ARMAVIA´ AIRLINE TO RESUME YEREVAN-TEL AVIV FLIGHTS

YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. From March 23 the “Armavia” airline will resume regular flights Yerevan-Tel Aviv. Press Secretary Zhasmin Velyan reported that in January 2006 the airline opened the Yerevan-Tel Aviv flight, which was temporarily interrupted for lack of passengers.

“The reason for the small number of passengers is problems in getting entry visas to Israel. To resolve this problem, the airline is actively cooperating with the Armenian Government,” Vilyan said.

On January 18, 2006, the national airline of Armenia, Armavia”, announced the opening of the Yerevan-Tel Aviv flight. The flights were carried out twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
Velyan pointed out that a non-stop flight between Armenia and Israel was necessitated by the intensification of bilateral economic and humanitarian cooperation. The airline also considered the wish of the Armenian Apostolic Church to contribute to the development pf pilgrimage. P.T.
