ARMENIA, US SIGN MEMORNADUN ON US GOVERNMENMT FUNDED EDUCATIONAL EXCHNAGES

YEREVAN, MARCH 3, ARMENRESS: Armenian Minister of Education and Science Sergo Yeritsyan and U.S. Ambassador John Evans signed today a Memorandum on U.S. government funded educational exchanges.
The two sides discussed the importance of student exchanges, such as the U.S. high school “FLEX” program, undergraduate “UGRAD” program and the graduate degree “Muskie” program. The memorandum was formally signed during a brief ceremony held at the Ministry of Education and Science.
Ambassador Evans said thousands of young Armenians have had various training courses in the US over the last several years. “Great civilizations make progress when they exchange their experiences, education offers this possibility,” he said. The memorandum will be effective for five years and is eligible for students of state-run and private universities, as well as high grade students of secondary schools.
