YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25. ARMINFO. The program of developing science in Armenia, elaborated by the Parliamentary Council for Science, was discussed today at the National Assembly of Armenia.
Improvement of the situation requires immediate reforms, said Academician Heinrich Bakunts during the discussion. To his opinion, the main problems are resulted from low financing and absence of young science workers. Another scientist E. Kazarian said that the wages have always been higher than that of administration workers, and now it amounts only AMD 28 thousand. 500 graduates of Armenian universities successfully work in Europe, while Armenian science institutes are almost deserted.
Armenia can become competitive only due to development of science, stated the Speaker of the Parliament Arthur Bagdasarian. He said that investments, innovations and attraction of venture funds are vital for the Armenian science.
