ARMENIANS AMONG 720 RICHEST RUSSIAN CITIZENS

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 14, ARMENPRESS: A 35-year-old Moscow-based businessman of Armenian origin was ranked by Russian magazine ‘Finances’ 95th in the list of 720 richest Russians. The wealth of Daniel Khachaturov, the chief manager of Rosgosstrakh insurance company, is estimated at $420 million.

Khachaturov owns 75 percent of shares in the company and also the Moscow Mortgage bank. He replaced another local Armenian, Ruben Vardanian, as head of Rosgosstrakh in 2004. The list has some other Armenian names-Nikolay and Sergey Sarkisovs, founders and owners of Reso insurance company, Ruben Dishdishian, president of Central Partnership movie producing company, Tigran Nersisian, the founder of Borodino company and some others .

The majority of Armenians in Russia are what called ‘people of moderate means.’ They are dealing largely with construction and trade.
