ARMENIA CAUTIOUS ABOUT PARIS MEETING OF PRESIDENTS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: A spokesman for Armenian foreign ministry said a brief visit the OSCE Minsk group cochairmen from Russia, France and USA will pay to Armenia on February 2 will be to learn the moods of Armenia and specify some other issues ahead of February 10 meeting of Armenian and Azeri presidents in Paris.

The Minsk group co-chairmen will arrive from Azerbaijan where they discussed these issues with its leadership. The spokesman, Hamlet Gasparian, said both sides did much job to reconcile their approaches and fundamental issues, but he added the positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan were still different on a set of complicated issues, which he said makes Armenia to be cautious in terms of expectations from the Paris meeting.

“Nevertheless, we hope that the presidents will make another step forward in Paris. The Armenian side is leaving for Paris with positive mood,” he said.

“There is will and desire on the part of Armenia to resolve the conflict, but frequent tough statements from the other side and its undaunted moods make us to be very cautious,” he said.
