LONDON, JANUARY 9. ARMINFO. The question on the destruction of the historically and architecturally significant Armenian monuments (khachkars) in the medieval cemetery of Julfa, Nakhichevan of the Azerbaijan Republic was tabled in the House of Lords by Baroness Cox for answer on the 11 January 2006. Executive of the Department for Russia, South Caucasus and Central Asia, British Foreign Ministry, Abiana Micah told ARMINFO’s correspondent.
The source reports that the issue was put on the agenda as “an issue for a written response” on December 20 2005. The response will be sent to Baroness Cox. The latter urged the British Government to response to the destruction of the Armenian monuments in Azerbaijan.
