“ARMENIA – A MUSEUM IN THE OPEN AIR”

A children’s art competition “Armenia – a museum in the open air” dedicated to the 1600th anniversary took place in the Art School in Georgievsk (Stavropol). 48 representatives of different nations took part in the competition 18 of which took prize-winning places.

As “Erkramas” newspaper informs the main prize was awarded to Cossack Yuri Pshunetov who pictured the inventor of Armenian Script Mesrop Mashtots. The children have been awarded presents and money awards, and their parents were given letters of acknowledgement for the children’s spiritual and moral upbringing by the organizers of the competition, “Kanch” Armenian national-cultural self-government.

The representatives of the city board of administration, the leading party “United Russia” as well as the representatives of the city’s Korean, Greek and Cossack communities were present at the competition. The awards were handed over by the Honored Artist of the USSR Ivan Kirillov and Honored Art Worker of the RF Yuri Avetisian.

The vice mayor of Georgievsk Alexander Koryabin mentioned that last year the Armenian community was the most active in the cultural life of the city./Panorama.am/
