INDIA TO DEVELOP AGRICULTURE OF ARMENIA

RA Prime-minister Andranik Margaryan received today Indian Аmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Mrs Rina Pandey.

The PM noted that the government of Armenia pays special attention to the strengthening and deepening of Armenian-Indian mutually beneficial cooperation. The development of highest-level political dialogue between the two countries was also stimulated by Robert Kocharyan’s official visit to India in 2003, and the visit of Indian vice-president Bharion Singh Shekhavat to Armenia in October 2005.

The parties mentioned that during the last years bipartite commodity turnover has increased. The interlocutors stressed, though, that there still remains big potential of opportunities. Andranik Margaryan and Rina Pandey stressed the role of Armenian-Indian inter-governmental commission, the 4-th sitting of which in Yerevan is planned in spring 2006. As perspective directions of bilateral cooperation the parties, in particular, mentioned, informational technologies, agriculture, small and medium business, tourism, public health, culture, education and other spheres.

During the meeting Andranik Margaryan expressed his gratitude for the gratuitous support marked out to Armenia by the governement of India, noting that Indian agricultural technics /about 300 tractors/ will greatly contribute to social-economic development of number of village communities.
