YEREVAN (YERKIR) – The Nov. 24 Telethon 2005 held in Los Angeles served its purpose of ensuring the participation of all the society groups in the Artsakh Resurrection Project, Naira Melkumian, Director of the Armenia Fund told a news conference on December 2, Noyan Tapan reported.
She mentioned that the number of young adults participating in this year’s telethon increased sharply. Also, there were more mid-size donations (between $1,000 and 25,000) indicating that the Fund is popular.
Though this year’s pledge of $7.77 million is $3.83 million less than the past year’s Melkumian said the result was satisfactory. She also said that the Fund’s project for this year include repairing of sports facilities in Yerevan as well as Artik hospital renovation and projects in Megri.
