6,800 ARMENIANS ABROAD REGISTER FOR REFERENDUM

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS: Armenian diplomatic representations abroad have registered 6,800 Armenian citizens who will visit polling stations at embassies and consulates to cast their ballots in the November 27 constitutional referendum. The majority of polling stations will be in Russian Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Los Angeles, the USA. Overall there will be 12 polling stations in Russia.

Tsovinar Khachatrian, a spokeswoman for Armenian Central Election Commission (CEC), told Armenpress that polling stations will open also in Armenian prisons. Military servicemen will vote in polling stations that will open in their units. She said 25 local mass media outlets have been registered for covering the referendum and no foreign media has so far asked for registration, though the deadline expires on November 22.

She said final voter lists will be hanged in all precincts two days before the polling day. Printing of ballots will begin on November 18.
