Italy Provided 1 Million Euro Humanitarian Assistance to Armenia

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ «The Government of Italy wants much to cooperate with Armenia and we consider this cooperation both at the bilateral level and within European policy and European integration, which is very important to Armenia,» stated Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Bayburdyan in the course of a joint news conference with Plenipotentiary Minister, Senior Representative of the Italian MFA Department for Development of Cooperation Eugenio Campo. He informed the world marked Italian International Cooperation Day yesterday. The Italian delegation had arrived in Armenia within the framework of that event. A. Bayburdyan underscored the high level of Armenian-Italian relations. IN his words, President Kocharian’s visit to Italy early this year encouraged further development of bilateral relations.

«Besides political cooperation and numerous mutual visits we are content with level of development of trade and economic relations, but we are not going to stop at the current level of the cooperation,» he stated. Besides, the Armenian diplomat remarked the trade turnover between the two countries has reached a high level. «The business forum organized in Armenia within the Days of Italy was an important move to develop trade and economic cooperation,» Bayburdyan stated. In his words the forum was of practical nature, as contacts were signed and these are at the stage of implementation. He also reported the Italian Government has provided 1 million euro humanitarian assistance to Armenia that will arrive in Armenia soon.
