Armenian Foreign Trade Grows 32 Percent in Three Quarters Of 2005

Yerevan, October 21, Armenpress: Armenia’s foreign trade in the first nine months of 2005 rose 32.2 percent from a year ago standing at around $2 billion. According to Armstat data, the negative trade balance was $561.3 million.

Armstat also said Armenian exports rose almost 40 percent making $687 million and imports were up 30 percent making around $1.250 billion. It also said retail trade volume in the nine months rose 7 percent standing at $1.256 billion. Armstat also said GDP growth in the first nine months was 11.6 percent. It said Armenian power generating facilities produced over that time 4.778 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity, a 6.7 percent growth from a year ago.
