YEREVAN, 14.10.05. ARMINFO. The production of chewing gum will be restored in Armenia. Hrant Vardanian, head of “Grant Holding” informed ARMINFO that the production of the chewing gum will begin on the basis of “Grant Candy” candy factory.
He said that the production lines will be redeemed from the Iranian candy company. The lines were sold to the Iranians, before “Grant Holding”purchases the former Yerevan candy factory. Mr. Vardanian emphasized that the chewing gum will be produced by technologies of the Soviet times. Supposedly, the fans of Armenian chewing gums will be able to purchase them in Armenian shops by early 2006. “I think that many our citizens still remember the taste of the Armenian chewing gums with coffee, orange, strawberry and mint,” Grant Vardanian said. Besides, he thinks that there is a large demand for Armenian chewing gums in both Armenian market and abroad. The Armenian chewing gum will be exported to the CIS countries, in particularly to Russia.
