GEORGIAN PRESIDENT TO ARRIVE IN ARMENIA

BATUMI, AUGUST 16, ARMENPRESS: “We are very glad that our Armenian friends are visiting Georgia to spend their holidays. They have arrived here as their cars were not stopped after every two kilometers as it used to be. Now while entering this country the guests are received with smiles,” Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said at the meeting with the Armenian journalists who are in Batumi with the Armenian business delegation headed by Volodya Badalian, the co-chairman of the Armenian-Georgian Business Association, who is also a member of parliament.

The Georgian president said “Armenians are received here very well, they are expected here. This year we have received thousands of Armenians, next year we are expecting to receive hundred thousands of them and not only in Ajaria but also in other parts of Georgia.” He said that the newly opened “Georgian Disneyland” which is one of the most beautiful entertainment parks in Europe will also promote the flow of the tourists.

Saakashvili said there are Armenian investors who want to built hotels in Ajaria and restore the old infrastructure. He underscored the circumstance that Armenians feel in Georgia surrounded by friends.

“In coming days I am leaving for Armenia to meet my friend Robert Kocharian in Sevan so you will surely have a tourist from Georgia. We must be happy that the contact has been restored as it was suspended for many years,” said the Georgian president.

“We want Georgia to become a tourism country and for reaching that aim we must implement a great work as everything was destroyed in Ajaria. Next year quite another situation will be here – the newly projected dolphinarium will be opened, open-air cascade pools and tennis courts as well as aqua park will be constructed.” The Georgian president also underscored the implementation of Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan every day flights which are expected launch from 2006.
