YEREVAN. Aug 16 (Interfax) – Armenia posted a budget surplus of 5.144 billion dram, or 0.7% of GDP, in the first half of 2005, the National Statistics Service told Interfax.
Revenue was 160.252 billion dram, or 22.7% of GDP, and that was 26.4% more than in the first half of 2004.
Tax revenue came to 132.597 billion dram, or 18.8% of GDP, a 21.1% year-on-year increase.
Budget spending during the period totaled 155.108 billion dram, or 22% of GDP, up 28.4% year-on-year.
The official exchange rate was 457.47 dram/$1 on August 16.
