RUSIAN FILM WEEK TO LAUNCH

“My Stepbrother Frankenstein” film opened yesterday the Russian film week in Armenia within the Days of Russian Federation. The head of the Department of Cinematographers, Sergey Lazaruk, actors Daniel Spivakovski and Mikhail Yevlanov arrived in Yerevan for this occasion and met students of the State Institute of Cinema and Theatre yesterday.

Six most famous Russian films of recent years — “Our People”, “Butterflies’ Game”, “A Chauffeur for Vera”, “The Father”, “The Night is Light” — are to be screened during the week. Sergey Lazaruk said yesterday at a press conference in “Moscow” cinema that those are the films that received wide coverage in Russian printed media. Concerning cooperation with Armenian cinema workers, Lazaruk said that for the last 2 years they are reaching agreements on joint programs. “We have learnt many things about Armenian cinema from Atom Egoyan’s films”, he said.
