YEREVAN (YERKIR) – Construction of an Armenian church in the Russian town of Ivanovo will begin in 2005, reported Yerkramas, an Armenian newspaper published in the southern Russia.
Robert Mkrtchian, leader of the Armenian community of Ivanovo, said the idea was approved by the Armenian Catholicos Garegin II, who is expected to participate in laying the church’s cornerstone. Mkrtchian added that a public fund to raise money for the church will be set up.
