YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22. ARMINFO. The foreign policies of Armenia’s neighbors are the key factor influencing the country’s confidential relations with EU, says Armenia’s President Robert Kocharyan in his Nov 19 speech at Berlin European Forum.
South Caucasus has very dramatic history. For centuries it has been a bone of contention for three empires. This is a bad precondition for regional stability. Armenia is convinced that a well-balanced foreign policy is the best contribution to stability in similar regions. The country is seeking to alleviate rather than escalate the contradictions of the world and regional powers may have in South Caucasus. This is complimentarity and this is Armenia’s policy in building its relations with the US, EU, Iran and traditionally with Russia.
