The U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans, speaking at a seminar held this weekend in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia, said he didn’t call for velvet revolution, but there are many people in Armenia able to change many things.
The seminar focused on democracy building in Armenia was held by the union of the U.S. educational and scientific research programs graduates and financed by the U.S. Government.
John Evans said 3.000 people have obtained qualification in the U.S.A.
He called on the seminar participants to be in touch with the presidential elections to be held in the United States on November 2 saying the elections would be complicated.
The ambassador also said to build democratic society not only scientific and theoretical approaches are needed to build democracy, but also ties. If he understood that when was studying in the same university with Bush and Kerry, he would be the secretary of the state, not ambassador today, Evans said.
