Fifteenth International Conference on Historic Armenian Cities and Provinces
The two-day conference focuses on the Armenian communities of Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the early Christian centuries to the present. Participants include scholars from Argentina, Armenia, France, Great Britain, Israel and the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, Spain, and the United States. The conference is organized by Professor Richard G. Hovannisian, who holds the Armenian Educational Foundation Chair in Modern Armenian History. Previous conferences in this series featured Armenian Van/Vaspurakan; Baghesh/Bitlis and Taron/Mush; Tsopk/Kharpert, Karin/Erzerum; Sebastia/Sivas; Tigranakert/Diarbekir and Edessa/Urfa; Cilicia; Constantinople; Kars and Ani; the Black Sea/Pontus Region; Smyrna/Izmir; Caesarea/Kesaria; New Julfa/Nor Jugha; and the Iranian Armenian Communities.
All sessions will be held in the Court of Sciences 50, in the southeast sector of the UCLA campus. See the UCLA Campus Map for directions.
