YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26. ARMINFO. The biggest air company of Armenia Armavia presented Monday its new brand.
According to Elison Ker, director of Landor, the British company who has created the brand, from now on the appearance of Armavia’s planes will reflect the culture, symbols and national colours of Armenia and the face of the company. The coloration is based on Armenia’s national flag – orange, blue and red. The tail will display an orange Ararat, the symbolic Armenian mountain. Ker says that the key objectives are to make one wish to come back to Armenia and to make one proud of his country.
The Armavia director general Alexander Nikitin says that Armavia wants to become a true Armenian carrier. In two years it has become the leader of Armenia’s air market due to its high security and qualified personnel, says Nikitin.
The head of the chief civil aviation department Artyom Movsissyan says that the factors of big Armenian diaspora and lack of other communications play an important role in the development of the Armenian aviation. Armenia’s aviation should integrate into international structures and Armavia is successfully doing that. In this context it is especially important that now Armavia will have not only a rich content but also its own original face, says Movsissyan.
Vladislav Filev, general director of the Siberia air company, Armavia’s strategic partner, believes that in the coming years Armavia will glorify the Armenian aviation.
In Jan-Mar 2004 the company carried 63,700 passengers and 0.6 mln tons of cargos. CIS flights constitute 85.4% of the total passenger turnover. The company made a total of 1,067 flights during that period. In 2003 Armavia made 3,026 flights carrying 249,200 passengers. The company has 4 A320 and 2 Soviet planes. It flies in 20 directions.
