YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19. ARMINFO. Armenian President Robert Kocharyan held a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Demetris Christofias today.
The Armenian Presidential Press-Service told ARMINFO that Robert Kocharyan congratulated the guests on admission of Cyprus to the EU, pointing out that European integration is a prior direction of Armenia’s foreign policy. In his turn, Demetris Christofias pointed out the readiness of Cyprus to contribute to Armenia, which is included into the program “Wider Europe. New Neighborhood.” The sides gave a high assessment of the current level of the Armenian-Cyprian relations and came out for their expansion and deepening. Besides, the sides emphasized the importance of further cooperation within the framework of various international structures. They discussed the issue of Turkey’s membership in the EU. In this connection, the sides expressed definite concern and said that Turkey must fulfill all its commitments before joining the EU.
