YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6. ARMINFO. “Azerbaijan is most of all concerned over continuation occupation of our lands by Armenia,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in his interview to Reuters.
He said that the whole international community, foreign officials and heads of international organizations are well aware of this. He said that his recent speech at the UN session was a “good opportunity to apply to the international community and remind of 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council on immediate liberation of all the seized territories of the Armenian armed forces.” He said “the situation is left unchanged, and it is dangerous, that is why it is necessary to observe the norms and principles of the International Law, to restore territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and withdraw the armed forces of Armenia from the occupied territories, it is the only way to peace.”
Aliyev said that “a single approach to separatist regimes of Karabakh, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Dniester region must be displayed.” “It is necessary to display a special approach to Armenians as they have influential lobby in the USA and Russia,” Ilham Aliyev said. “Karabakh will never get indepedence,” he said. “Azerbaijan will never go on concessions in the issue of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and international community does not recognize the military regime in Karabakh.” As regards the Armenians of Karabakh, they will further live as national minorities within the framework of autonomy. The Azerbaijani president said that the more the conflict is protracted the greater becomes the threat of resumption of miltiary actions. Azerbaijan still comes out for peaceful resolution of the conflict, however,it cannot put with the fact of “occupation of its territories and its patience is limited,” Azerbaijani President said.
