YEREVAN, July 22 (Itar-Tass) – Armenian President Robert Kocharian has expressed “sincere interest in Georgia’s stability.”
“I am confident that the Georgian authorities will be able to overcome difficulties,” he said at a meeting with visiting Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili.
Current economic cooperation between Armenia and Georgia still falls short of their potential and intentions, the negotiators said. They called for boosting the activity of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
Armenia and Georgia are committed to integration into European structures, Zurabishvili and Kocharian said. In this respect, they pointed to growing opportunities for cooperation, especially those which have emerged after the three republics in the South Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) have been included in the EU New Neighborhood programme.
