Baku. (Interfax-Azerbaijan) – Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov is expected to visit the U.S. later in July. He also plans to meet with his Armenian counterpart Vardan Oskanian in August.
“The foreign minister’s visit to the U.S. has been set for July 20- 21. Its goal is to promote relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S.,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s press service told Interfax.
“Mamedyarov plans to hold talks with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell,” it said.
“And in August, Mamedyarov is expected to meet with his Armenian counterpart. The exact date and place of the talks are still to be negotiated. The talks will deal with ways to settle the Karabakh conflict in the context of the latest visit to the region by the co- chairmen of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Minsk Group,” the press service said.
