AZERBAIJANI ORGANIZATION FOR KARABAKH LIBERATION (OKL) CONTINUES THREATENING ARMENIAN MILITARIES

YEREVAN, JULY 3. ARMINFO. The Azerbaijani Organization for Karabakh Liberation (OKL) will do its best to prevent the sounding of the Armenian hymn and hoisting of the Armenian flag in the course of NATO military exercises Cooperative Best Effort – 2004 in Azerbaijan in September. According to the Azerbaijani newspaper Echo, OKL Vice Chairman Shamil Mehti made this statement commenting on the statement on the part of the head of the Armenian delegation to NATO planning conference in Baku that Armenia will be represented at the exercises by a subdivision of officers.

Mehti said “Yerevan manages to push forward its officers, whose hands are deep in the blood of Azerbaijani officers. Armenians easily provoke the Azerbaijani public to counteraction. As a result, Azerbaijan is discredited on the international arena.” He said that OKL will take concrete measures in September, when the Armenian delegation arrives in Baku.

In his turn, Head of the Press-Service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry Ramiz Melikov also commented on the words of the Armenian officer: “It is a false, nasty, malicious Armenian bragging. The Armenian officers will not be paid any special attention.” He said that Armenian officers arrive in Baku to “stir up trouble.”
