TURKEY GOING TO BUILD 3 NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

The issue of constructing 3 nuclear power plants in Turkey is being considered at the moment, Turkish minister of energy Himli Guler told in his interview to NTV Turkish TV channel. In his words, negotiations on building 2 or 3 NPPs are being conducted with Westinghouse American company, Siemens and Canadian AECL at present. In case the negotiations are successful, the project will be submitted to the Turkish parliament. At the same time Guler stated that ecologists and the Chamber of Electrical Engineers are against the construction stating that the country has no need in nuclear power plants.
