An informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS member-states is being held in Moscow at present. The day before the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Moldavia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Tajikistan arrived in Moscow on the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. As reported by Russian media, though no agenda has been fixed the forum participants are to discuss a number of urgent issues. According to a reliable source, the CIS leaders are expected to consider the preparations for the September CIS summit in Astana and joint celebrations of the 60-th anniversary in World War II. As deputy to Ukrainian President Administration head Vasili Baziv said, during the vacation the Presidents of the CIS member-states felt the necessity of “giving an estimate to the present political situation”.
