PARIS, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS: The visiting Armenian president Robert Kocharian had a more than one-hour long private conversation yesterday evening with his French counterpart Jacques Chirac. Speaking to a briefing after the meeting Armenian president said the focus in the meeting was on bilateral relations. Recalling that his previous meeting with Chirac took place last summer, Kocharian said that “now we can state that all the arrangements which we reached then have been actually fulfilled.”
Kocharian said the second group of discussed issues related to Karabagh conflict resolution. He said he presented the current state of things and Armenia’s vision of how the conflict should be settled. He said the French president presented his own observations and remarks. “In this sense we have had a very interesting exchange of views,” Armenia’s president said. Kocharian said he also spoke about his meeting with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Warsaw on April 28 in the sidelines of Economic Forum.
In response to a question whether his meeting with Chirac meant taking the regulation process of Nagorno Karabagh out of deadlock, Kocharian said “no,” adding that his April 28 meeting with Aliyev will show “the real picture around the conflict.” Kocharian said he also briefed his French counterpart on domestic situation in Armenia.
The delegation headed by president Kocharian departed today for Warsaw to participate in Economic Forum.
