YEREVAN, APRIL 13. ARMINFO. Armenian President Robert Kocharyan welcomes the initiative of the ruling coalition to start a dialogue with the opposition without any preliminary conditions by both parties, Vice Speaker, RPA Vice Chairman, Tigran Torossyan told journalists commenting on the results of the president’s meeting with leaders of the coalition, the United Labor party and the deputy group “National Deputy.”
Vice Speaker said that the president touched upon the domestic political situation in the country and the possibilities of easing it. The meeting participants coincided in the opinion that the possibility of a dialogue has not been exhausted yet. Tigran Torossyan reiterated that the ruling coalition is ready for a dialogue with the opposition to reveal the acute problems and find solutions to them. And the fact that the ruling coalition approved the initiative of intelligence representatives for holding a meeting with the opposition today in an evidence of it. The meeting did not take place only because its initiators could not reach the oppositionists. Torossyan expressed confidence that the opinions of the coalition and the opposition will coincide on the vital problems and the methods of their solution if they sit around a negotiation table. However he said that the opposition displays an nonconstructive position delivering an ultimatum of president’s resignation.
