YEREVAN, MARCH 3. ARMINFO. The Coordination Council on Protection of the Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov, who made a vicious crime having killed his Armenian colleague Lt. Gurgen Margaryan by an axe in Budapest, intend to start collecting signatures for unbiased investigation and trial in Safarov’s case. According to the Azerbaijani newspaper Zerkalo, this was announced at a press-conference yesterday.
According to the source, this petition will be sent to Hungary, Besides, an appeal to the Supreme Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of Hungary is prepared. Besides, the members of the Coordination Council intend to meet foreign and defense ministers to discuss the possible plan of measures on organization of more effective protection of Safarov’s rights. To keep this problem in the focus of public attention, a group of “young patriots” distribute portraits of Safarov in the crowded areas.
