All measures to get back senior lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Ramil Safarov accused of Armenian officer’s murder in Budapest are being taken. According to the Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev, the Ministry is doing its best to protect Azerbaijani army officer within the law and take him back sooner or later.
Ramil Safarov is currently staying in custody and in accordance with the legislation of Hungary he may be under investigation for a month. In fact, Hungary and Azerbaijan have no agreement on legal assistance and it impedes return of Ramil to Azerbaijan. Only after investigation and sentence, Azerbaijani side can request the Hungarian side on the possibility for Ramil to serve the term in Azerbaijan.
