YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 10, ARMENPRESS: Armenian authorities have temporarily suspended all imports of poultry, eggs and animal fat from China, Thailand and other Asian countries as a precautionary measure against an outbreak of bird flu.
An agriculture official, Anushavan Aghajanian, said no traces of bird flue have been identified and Armenia has been so far immune from the disease, known also as avian influenza that has already killed dozens people and ravaged poultry farms in 10 Asian nations and territories, forcing their governments to slaughter tens of millions chickens.
