YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 9. ARMINFO. Famous American maecenas and philanthropist of Armenian origin Kirk Kirkorian has not determined yet further financing of the programs in Armenia by Lincy foundation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vardan Oskanian informed the participants of the youth meeting “Baze – winter 2004”, the American maecenas has expressed a desire to come Armenia and to see for himself the results of the implementation of the programs. The minister said that Kirk Kirkorian is now busy in the USA and cannot come. “I think that only after visit to Armenia he will decide”, the minister said, adding there are no concrete plans for using the funds of the Lincy.
It should be noted that earlier Kirk Kirkorian allocated $165 mln to Armenia for implementation of several programs. In particular, in total $14.5 mln were aimed at restoration of the streets of the capital of Armenia, many motor-roads of international and republic importance were restored, the construction works in the zone of Spitak earthquake were activated.
