turkishpress: Armenian Patriarch Mutafyan Injured In A Traffic Accident

ANTALYA – Armenian Patriarch Mesrob Mutafyan has been slightly injured in a traffic accident.

Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that a minibus carrying Patriarch Mutafyan and 11 other people turned over near Doyran village in southern province of Antalya.

Besides Mutafyan, Turkish-Armenian Patriarchate Spokesman Luiz Bakar, Senior Priest Sahak Mashaliyan, Mutafyan’s Assistant Hovannes Bayram, photographer Manuel Citak and seven members of Youth Commission were slightly injured in the accident.

They were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatments.

Doctors said that they were in good condition.

Meanwhile, Patriarch Mutafyan told the A.A correspondent that the accident occurred when they were on a tour to Antalya under religious belief tourism.

Mutafyan thanked Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu, Antalya Governor Alaaddin Yuksel, Antalya Police Chief Naciye Ekmekcibasi and the other officials for their sincere interest.

ARMENIAN PATRIARCH MUTAFYAN BROUGHT TO ISTANBUL

ISTANBUL – Turkish Armenian Patriarch Mesrob Mutafyan who was injured in a traffic accident in southern province of Antalya, was brought to Istanbul on Monday.

Mutafyan suffering a broken foot and nose, was taken to the Armenian Hospital in Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul for medical treatment.

Doctors said that Mutafyan’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
