Yerevan, 22 December: National minorities comprise 2.1 per cent of
Armenia’s population.
According to the preliminary data of a population census provided by
the National Statistics Service of Armenia, the republic’s population
is 3,213,000 people. A total of 3,145,400 of them are ethnic Armenians.
According to the same source, there are 3,400 Assyrians, 40,600
Yezidis, 1,200 Greeks, 14,700 Russians, 1,600 Ukrainians, 1,500 Kurds,
133 Germans, 97 Poles, 696 Georgians, 257 Belorusians and 109 Jews
in Armenia.
