YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4. ARMINFO. Annually the number of tubercular patients in Armenia grows by 10-12%, Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia Hayk Darbinian informed during the briefing today.

According to him, 5,620 tubercular patients are registered in the republic, and the number of primary patients annually grows by 1,000-1,200 people. The government of Armenia today approved the national program for struggle against tuberculosis for 2003-2006 to prevent the spread of this disease. The program envisions holding a monitoring, prevention and treatment of tuberculosis. The deputy minister mentioned that the state budget 2004 has allocated 717.5 mln drams against 408 mln drams in 2002 for this purpose within the framework of the state order. 70,000 drams are allocated for treatment of one patient.
